Honda Canada released the all new 2018 Honda Fit starting from $15 190 and it’s hard to beat. Equipped with a 1.5 litre, 130 HP engine, it seems like it would be hard for the Fit to be the right “fit”. However, with its small size but large cargo capabilities 130 HP is all you need. But for those who still want more, we have the Fit Sport which offers 114 lb.-ft of torque @ 4600 rpm. Also comes with gun metal rims, leather interior and a leather wrapped steering wheel.

The all-new 2018 Honda Odyssey is here! It is the 5th generation of its model, originating in the 90’s. The base model (LX/EX) comes fully loaded with a 280 HP V6 engine, a massive interior with 3 rows of seating, and top of the line new 2018 technology. If you are interested in a minivan then you probably have a family or a group of people that need transportation frequently, and the 2018 Honda Odyssey is just the minivan for that. This new model maintains that safe comfortable reputation that Honda minivans have had for years. The Odyssey really is a people’s car. Compared to its close competitors; the Dodge Grand Caravan, or the Toyota Sienna, the Odyssey always comes out on top. Its competitors are commonly sold to commercial companies for utility purposes, whereas the Odyssey has always swayed away from that remaining to be that “peoples car”.

2017 Honda Civic, Accord, and Pilot

          Honda decided to revamp their infamous Honda Civic for the 2017 model, including a new gun metal option for rims, as well as, the hatchback body style. Honda continues to improve its top notch quality, affordable pricing, and great value. At the Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards, Honda took home four awards for its three successful sedans: the civic, accord, and pilot. Each of these vehicles remain at the top of their classes creating a safe, comfortable, affordable means of transportation.

The 2017 Honda Accord was kept plain and simple compared to its 2016 model. Visually it looks almost identical, and specifications wise, it is quite similar as well. However, if the specs are the same and the visuals are the same, what’s new? Well with the new Accord, Honda released a new Sport Special Edition which consumers are raving about. This new Sport Edition gives consumers an option for a fast, high quality, inexpensive, sports car. With 189Hp and 2.4L engine, the accord SE (Sport Edition) can generate some power comparing to its base model counterpart.

Lastly, the Pilot: Honda went a similar route with the pilot as they did for the Accord, plain and simple. Like the Accord, visually, the new 2017 Pilot looks very similar if not identical to the 2016 model. However, on the inside there is a multitude of changes; a variety of new interior colours to choose from, new multi-touch display system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, and much more. The Pilot is just another example of a safe, comfortable, and affordable car that consumers can rely on.

Smartphone Cooling in your Car!

Whoa, this is cool! No pun intended…

For 2016, Chevrolet has introduced a nifty new feature called Active Phone Cooling. This feature will be available on the 2016 Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Volt and Cruze models that are equipped with the wireless charging option.

Most smartphones have built-in thermal protection features to protect battery life, but that protection – which can cause the phone to pause charging or turn off until it has cooled down – is inconvenient for drivers on the road who rely on their smartphones for streaming music, navigation or receiving phone calls.

What does Active Phone Cooling do? An air vent connected directly to the car’s air conditioning and ventilation system is directed to the charging bin where the phone rests for wireless charging, sending cool air to help lower the phone’s temperature. Active Phone Cooling operates only when the HVAC system is turned on by the driver.

Klout Influencer – Buick Test Drive Experience

Over the course of a 6 month period, Buick held the ultimate test drive experience to socially connected individuals in conjunction with Klout.  From October 2012 to March of this year, 50 influential Torontonians were provided a Buick Verano to test drive.  When the program concluded in March, 2 people were chosen to participate in a video interview where they were asked to share their experience with Klout.  At Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, we already know how fabulous the Verano truly is and are excited for you to see as well. HondaLink iOS Update

An update to the iOS app is now available to all Honda Customers using HondaLink.  The affected vehicles include: 2013 Accord Sedan, 2013 Accord Coupe and the 2013 Crosstour.

The update to HondaLink is currently available if you visit the Apple App Store.  This upgrade will provide many improvements such as:

  • Bluetooth and USB dual connectivity issues
  • Apps crashing while music is playing through the “Aha” audio source
  • Improved overall navigation and performance
  • Searching for and adding stations has been simplified
  • App crashing when phone’s OS is set to a language other than English or French
  • Added a “play/pause” button on the station list.

2013 Canadian International Auto Show

This year’s Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto brought with it huge crowds, gorgeous vehicles and exciting exhibits from the manufacturers.  Here at AutoHwy, we aren’t afraid to admit that this year brought some thrilling models.

Among some of this year’s most exciting were the concept vehicles.  Stealing everyone’s attention was the Honda Urban Small SUV concept.  Striking in its appearance, it glistened under the lights on display and stopped everyone in its tracks. This “concept” is soon to become a reality since it is set to be released in the United States later next year.563447_10101024808083761_243069825_n

Another popular favourite was the Chevrolet concept cars – Tru 140 S and Code 130R .  At their exhibit, Chevrolet actually engaged visitors by creating a voting booth of sorts, allowing individuals to vote on which concept car they would like to see become a reality!602242_10101024806536861_379935614_n

Perhaps one of the most exciting models at the show was the Canadian debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Stingray Corvette. This 450 horsepower vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in less than 4 seconds!  Now for the good and the bad…it can be yours for approximately $115,000.
