Today in California, Honda introduced the 2016 Honda Accord, which received a major overhaul in appearance. The new, sportier and more sophisticated Accord will be the first Honda model to feature both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Without a doubt, this will be the “highest-tech Accord ever.” Additional changes will include new styling, new display audio touchscreen interface, Honda Sensing (set of comprehensive safety and driver-assistive technologies), front and rear parking sensors, wireless charging and numerous other standard and available features that we are told will be revealed over the next several weeks.
The exterior changes include a new aluminum hood with a more aggressive front grille, while the back of the Accord sports restyled LED headlights and a redesigned bumper.
If the Accord Sport and Touring trims are something you are interested in, you can also expect new, larger 19-inch wheels and tires along with a new rear deck spoiler.
We are already counting down the arrival of the all-new 2016 Honda Accord. Make sure you stay connected with Image Honda and Hamilton Auto Blog for the latest information on this outstanding vehicle.
Spring has finally arrived…and we are already excited for the winter? I know, right now you’re saying we’re crazy, but it’s only because we are excited about a new sub-compact vehicle that Honda is set to launch next winter. The 2015 Honda HR-V will be joining the all-new 2015 Fit this winter as Honda expands its small car line-up. This new vehicle will be positioned below the CR-V in both price point and size.
Like the all-new Honda Fit, the HR-V is sharp looking and takes on a character of its own. Its unique centre tank layout will make it extra spacious for passengers and more versatile for the owner. Standard on the new SUV is the exclusive “Honda Magic Seat”, which will give you the option for multiple seat configurations and the capability to fold the second row seating completely flat. Dave Gardner, vice- president of sales and marketing for Honda Canada Inc. said, “both the Fit and the HR-V demonstrate how great things can come in small packages, and no one does this better than Honda.” With all the HR-V has to offer, we couldn’t agree with him more!
The HR-V will appeal to first time car buyers and those individuals who are loyal to the Honda brand. We at Image Honda can’t wait for it to arrive on our showroom floor and we are even more excited to let you experience all it has to offer. Make sure to follow us at Hamilton Auto Blog for the latest on the HR-V and everything Honda. As always, if you are interested in any of the vehicles in our award winning line up, please visit us at www.imagehonda.com or call us at 905-561-4100 today!
If you have never experienced a drive-in movie, then some may say you haven’t truly captured the movie experience.I remember the first time I attended the Starlite drive-in here in Hamilton.I must have been about 5 or 6 when my father took my brother and me.I can still remember the excitement and the mystery of it all.We packed our cooler, brought some blankets in case it got cool and got ready for the show to begin. Not only was I being allowed to stay up late because we had to wait until it got dark, I got to see two movies instead of one. At least, I tried to see two movies, but my young eyes wouldn’t stay open for the second film. The part that I love most about the drive-in and still love today is that I feel as if I am experiencing a little piece of history. They still play the old preview commercials and the concession building looks to be straight out of the 1950’s.It is one of the few instances where your parents can say to you, “This is what I did as a kid”, and you know that you are experiencing the exact same thing, exactly how it was back then.
That is why Honda Motor Co. began a campaign called “Project Drive-In” to raise money for Drive-in theatres around the United States. Most drive-in theatres across the U.S. and in Canada will be forced to close down due to the end of 35mm film distribution. The end of 35mm film as we know it is forcing drive-in theatres to make the switch to digital, which will cost roughly $75,000 U.S. per screen.
“It’s not often that a company gets the opportunity to help preserve an American pastime. It has been an honor and a privilege to bring national and local attention to the fate of drive-ins and to meet the passionate owners of these small businesses, said Alicia Jones, manager of Honda & Acura social marketing at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.“We hope that the #SaveTheDriveIn movement continues in the effort to help keep more drive-ins open for the next generation.”
There will be a total of 9 winning theatres across the U.S. who will receive a new projector.People were encouraged to visit www.projectdrivein.com to vote for their local drive-in.Click here to watch Honda’s video on the movement.
We want to know what you think – let us know what your local drive-in means to you by visiting our AutoHwy Facebook page.
You may have heard already, but Honda is partnering once again with The McLaren Group to participate in the FIA Formula One (F1) World Championship for the 2015 season. On the McLaren website, they announced their delight about the “new multi-year Formula 1 technology partnership with Honda, which is reuniting an association that became one of the most successful and powerful in Formula 1 history during the 1980’s and 90’s.”
With shared responsibilities, Honda will be responsible for the development, manufacture and supply of the power unit, including the engine. McLaren will be responsible for the development and manufacture of the chassis as well as the management of the new team – McLaren Honda.
New F1 regulations have only furthered Honda’s excitement since it will inspire improvements to both the efficiency of a combustion engine and energy management technologies such as hybrid systems, something that Honda helped pioneer years ago. Takanobu Ito, President and CEO of Honda Motor Co Ltd., had the following to say: “Ever since its establishment, Honda has been a company which grows by taking on challenges in racing. Earlier this morning at the opening of the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, the winner of the Canadian Car of the Year was awarded by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). The top honour went to none other than the 2013 Honda Accord sedan, and deservedly so. The Honda Accord beat out the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT and the 2013 Porsche Boxster.
AJAC’s annual test in October had about 80 leading auto journalists from across Canada gathered to test drive and evaluate over one hundred 2013 vehicles.
“We are extremely proud to see the Accord recognized by so many of Canada’s top journalists as Canadian Car of the Year and we thank AJAC for this great honour,” said Takashi Sekiguchi, President and CEO, Honda Canada who was there to accept the award. “The Accord is one of our most important vehicles, so we’re thrilled to receive the great feedback that we’re continuing to raise the bar in the family car category.”
Congratulations to Honda Canada and Honda worldwide for this great achievement. For anyone who hasn’t had a chance to take a 2013 Honda Accord out on the road, it is definitely one to put on your list.
