Honda Named Most Trust Brand, Best Value Brand and Best Overall Brand

There is once again exciting news for Honda! New-car buyers have spoken in our favour and recognized the Honda Brand as the “Most Trusted Brand” for the second consecutive year and as the “Best Value Brand” for the third year in a row in Kelley Blue Book’s 2013 Brand Image Award study. Additionally, Honda received the top award this year for “Best Overall Non-Luxury Brand” giving us more awards than any other car brand.

These awards are based on consumer automotive perception data from Kelley Blue Book Market Intelligence’s Brand Watch study, which surveys more than 12,000 new-vehicle shoppers each year on Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. Honda received top honors by capturing the highest average score from the combined ratings of all non-luxury models. Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst, Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com was quoted as saying “Honda was named Best Overall Brand by non-luxury shoppers, which speaks to Honda’s stellar reputation and brand leadership in the minds of consumers.”

HondaLink iOS Update

An update to the iOS app is now available to all Honda Customers using HondaLink. The affected vehicles include: 2013 Accord Sedan, 2013 Accord Coupe and the 2013 Crosstour.

The update to HondaLink is currently available if you visit the Apple App Store. This upgrade will provide many improvements such as:

Bluetooth and USB dual connectivity issues
Apps crashing while music is playing through the “Aha” audio source
Improved overall navigation and performance
Searching for and adding stations has been simplified
App crashing when phone’s OS is set to a language other than English or French
Added a “play/pause” button on the station list.

Are You Attending the Toronto Blue Jays Home Opener?

It’s almost that time of year again – Baseball season! This year, the Toronto Blue Jays and Honda Canada kick off opening week against the Cleveland Indians at the Rogers Center on April 2, 2013. We at Image Honda are proud to say that Honda Canada has been an ongoing sponsor of the Toronto Blue Jays, Canada’s only Major League Baseball Club, for the last 35 years.

As the official vehicle sponsor this year, each person attending the Toronto Blue Jays season home opener will have the opportunity to participate in the 2013 Honda Opening Night Vehicle Giveaway Contest. There will be 3 prizes drawn – first place is a 2013 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD. The secondary prize will consist of a 2013 Honda CBR500RA Sport bike along with a tertiary prize, which is a Honda Lawn Care package.

In addition, Honda Canada along with the Jays, Baseball Canada and Little League Canada will embark on their third year of the Blue Jays Honda Super Camp. 2013 Canadian International Auto Show

This year’s Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto brought with it huge crowds, gorgeous vehicles and exciting exhibits from the manufacturers. Here at AutoHwy, we aren’t afraid to admit that this year brought some thrilling models.

Among some of this year’s most exciting were the concept vehicles. Stealing everyone’s attention was the Honda Urban Small SUV concept. Striking in its appearance, it glistened under the lights on display and stopped everyone in its tracks. This “concept” is soon to become a reality since it is set to be released in the United States later next year.

Another popular favourite was the Chevrolet concept cars – Tru 140 S and Code 130R . At their exhibit, Chevrolet actually engaged visitors by creating a voting booth of sorts, allowing individuals to vote on which concept car they would like to see become a reality!

Perhaps one of the most exciting models at the show was the Canadian debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Stingray Corvette. This 450 horsepower vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in less than 4 seconds! Now for the good and the bad…it can be yours for approximately $115,000.

This is a great app for owners of GM vehicles. From MyChevrolet to MyGMC, MyBuick and more – you can get personalized apps for your brand of vehicle. The MyChevrolet app, for example, features the Find My Car feature that lets you mark parking spots on a map so finding your car in a parking lot won’t be a problem. The lights and indicators visual reference guide will tell you what those warning lights on your dashboard mean. There’s also OnStar RemoteLink to give you information on your car’s battery levels and operations. Plus easy access to scheduling service, locating dealers, roadside assistance and more! With the Aha system, you can turn your personalized internet content into customized on demand stations that sync to your in-car HondaLink. Change your customized stations whenever you want, and make your drive as convenient and as entertaining as possible with your in car stations. Safe Driver

This app is for parents with teens who are new drivers. Or parents who just want to keep an eye on the way their kids are driving. Safe Driver monitors the location and driving of your child. It alerts parents via text or email when their kids exceed a specific speed. This is a great app for making a new driver’s experience safer. This app is available for Apple and Android smartphones.

Waze

Waze is a community based traffic and navigation app. You’ll be working with other drivers to make everyone’s commute easier and shorter. By simply driving with your Waze app open you’re contributing to the traffic and road information for your local community. Waze allows you to read and contribute to reporting accidents, hazards, police and anything you see on the road. Waze also works as a navigation system with voice guided navigation. You can share your drive with your friends too, so people know where you’re going and you can meet up with people going to the same destination. This app is available on Apple and Android smartphones.iWrecked

If ever you’ve found yourself in an accident, the free iWrecked app will help you collect yourself when you don’t know what to do next. The app allows you to give a full accident report after you’ve been in a wreck. It generates a detailed, professional PDF accident report complete with images that you take yourself. You can send this report directly from your phone to your insurance company. You can also locate nearby taxi or towing companies to assist you straight from your app and make one button calls to your insurance companies and other emergency contacts. This app is available on Apple and Android smartphones.

Honda Accord and Fit Receive Car and Driver Magazine’s 10 Best Car Award!

Honda does it again! We are pleased to announce that the 2013 Honda Accord and 2013 Honda Fit have been honoured, yet again, with Car and Driver Magazine’s “10 Best Cars” Awards. This prestigious and highly competitive award is not new to Honda. The Accord has achieved Car and Driver’s “10 Best Cars” status a record 27 times in the 31 years this competition has been held. Not to be outdone, the Honda Fit holds the title in each of the 7 years it has been for sale in North America!

So, how does Car and Driver conclude what qualifies as a “10 Best Car”? Each September, the editors of Car and Driver test all 2013 models under $80,000, as well as returning winners. Over the course of a week, they test-drive these vehicles a combined distance of over 15,000 miles before reaching a decision.
