Smartphone Cooling in your Car!

Whoa, this is cool! No pun intended…

For 2016, Chevrolet has introduced a nifty new feature called Active Phone Cooling. This feature will be available on the 2016 Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Volt and Cruze models that are equipped with the wireless charging option.

Most smartphones have built-in thermal protection features to protect battery life, but that protection – which can cause the phone to pause charging or turn off until it has cooled down – is inconvenient for drivers on the road who rely on their smartphones for streaming music, navigation or receiving phone calls.

What does Active Phone Cooling do? An air vent connected directly to the car’s air conditioning and ventilation system is directed to the charging bin where the phone rests for wireless charging, sending cool air to help lower the phone’s temperature. Active Phone Cooling operates only when the HVAC system is turned on by the driver.

2014 Cruze Diesel Named Car of the Year

Its official, the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel has been named “Top Diesel Car of the Year”, as well as “Diesel Manufacturer of the Year” by Diesel Driver Magazine. Voted on by the readers of Diesel Driver, 59.3% of the 11,030 votes cast were for the Cruze, beating out competing models that included: Audi, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, BMW and Porsche.This isn’t the first award for the Chevrolet Cruze Diesel – earlier this year they were recognized by Wards Auto as having one of the 10 Best Engines.

The all-new Chevrolet Cruze is a 2.0L clean-turbo-diesel-powered model, and has a fuel consumption rating of 4.2L/100km highway. This new diesel achieves a better fuel consumption rating than any non-hybrid or gasoline passenger car in North America.

While there is much excitement still surrounding the 2014 model, Chevrolet just revealed the 2015 Cruze Diesel at the New York International Auto Show. Making revisions to the exterior styling, as well as enhancements to the interior convenience of the vehicle, Chevrolet has made available a diesel powertrain that still maintains its class-leading fuel economy.

The 2014 Honda Accord Wins This Years Canadian Green Car Award

Maybe you have a new driver in the family and want to ensure their safety.  Now you can have peace of mind with OnStar Family Link.  This service is an opt-in extension to your monthly OnStar subscription and is made available to you for a nominal fee.  With no limit to the number of vehicles you can add, you will always be able to track your vehicle on the road without bothering the driver.

Upon sign up, you will be given direct access to the location of your vehicle by viewing a map, as well as the ability to schedule email or text message notifications with Family Link’s unique “Vehicle Location Alert”.  You can even personalize the system by setting the day, time and frequency of your alerts.

Get Behind The Wheel And Donate to The Walk to Fight Arthritis

Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC will be holding our “Drive for a Cause” event on May 10th and 11th, 2013 at our Queenston on the Mountain dealership.  This event will provide individuals the opportunity to support a great cause and test drive one of our exciting 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet, Buick or GMC vehicles.  These vehicles include: the re-designed Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Malibu, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia, as well as, the new Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore.

For each test drive taken during the two day event, Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC will donate $25 to The Arthritis Society on behalf of that individual. The dealership’s goal for this event is to donate $4,500.Small Logo
